Overview

About the Sennheiser EM 300-500 G4

This is the receiver for the jobs where the channel count is the problem. 3520 frequencies across 88 MHz of switching bandwidth, more than double the tuning range of the 100 series, and BNC antenna connectors so it can be fed from a remote antenna or a distribution system rather than whatever the back of the rack can see.

Typical applications

  • Multi-channel theatre and musical productions running many radio mics
  • Conferences with simultaneous panel, lectern and roving positions
  • Broadcast and streamed events where audio failure is not recoverable
  • Any plan large enough to need remote antennas and a distro

Why the tuning range matters

Australian UHF for wireless microphones is a shared and shrinking space. A wider switching bandwidth means more room to find channels that do not intermodulate with each other or with the television transmitters in range. 88 MHz across the GBW band, with adjacent channel rejection typically better than 75 dB and intermodulation attenuation better than 70 dB, is what makes a dense channel plan hold together.

Built for a proper rack

Balanced XLR out at +18 dBu and unbalanced jack at +12 dBu, 20 preset banks of up to 32 mutually compatible channels plus six programmable banks of the same size, and Sennheiser HDX companding for the noise floor. BNC antenna connections take it straight into an antenna distribution system.
