About the grandMA2 Full-Size
The grandMA2 Full-Size is MA Lighting’s flagship lighting control console and one of the most widely specified desks in large-scale production worldwide. Natively controlling 8,192 parameters across 64 DMX universes (expandable to 256 universes and 65,536 parameters via MA-Net2), it is engineered to handle the demands of even the most complex multi-fixture rigs, encompassing conventional fixtures, moving heads, LED systems, and media servers within a single unified workflow.
At the heart of the console’s interface are three 15.4″ internal multi-touch screens and a dedicated 9″ command screen, delivering a clear, customisable layout that keeps critical information immediately accessible. Two additional UXGA external monitor outputs allow operators to extend the workspace for enhanced show visibility. The 30 motorised 100mm faders, including dual motorised A/B masters, provide tactile, responsive playback control that responds in real time to cue lists and scene changes, ensuring precise live performance execution.
Purpose-Built for Professional Production
The grandMA2 Full-Size has earned its position as an industry benchmark across live concerts, touring productions, broadcast, theatre, and large-format corporate events. Its network architecture supports seamless integration with grandMA2 onPC stations, NPUs (Network Processing Units), and remote nodes, enabling distributed processing across extensive festival and arena-scale rigs. The dual etherCON ports provide robust, locking network connectivity suited to the rigours of touring and festival environments.
The console ships with a built-in UPS (uninterruptible power supply), providing critical protection against unexpected power interruptions during live performances, a feature particularly valued in outdoor event and festival deployments where generator power can be inconsistent. Five USB 2.0 ports allow for show file backup, software updates, and peripheral connectivity without compromise.
grandMA2 in the Australian Event Landscape
The grandMA2 platform remains the console of choice for visiting international touring productions, major domestic festivals, and high-end corporate events across Australia. Its widespread adoption means that most professional lighting operators and programmers arrive on site already fluent in its workflow, minimising integration time and maximising production efficiency. Whether you’re running a full arena rig or a complex theatre installation, the grandMA2 Full-Size delivers the parameter depth, processing power, and reliability required at the highest level of the industry.
