About the ETC Nomad 6k Kit

The ETC Nomad 6k Kit is a professional, fully portable lighting control system built around ETC’s industry-standard Eos Family software platform. Delivering 6,144 unlocked outputs across 48 DMX universes, the Nomad 6k is capable of handling demanding productions, from large touring rigs and festival stages to theatre runs, corporate events, and television studio work, all from a compact, road-ready package.

The kit pairs the Nomad software with the Eos Programming Wing and the 20 Fader Wing, giving operators hands-on hardware control without the footprint of a full console. Output is distributed via DMX512-A with support for RDM, sACN, and Art-Net, ensuring compatibility with the widest range of modern fixtures, media servers, and networked infrastructure.

Kit Components

ETC Nomad (6k): The Nomad software runs on a dedicated host computer and provides the full Eos Family feature set, including cue stacks, effects engine, patch, groups, palettes, and more, with 6,144 outputs unlocked and ready to use from day one.

Eos Programming Wing: A full backlit programming face drawn directly from ETC’s Gio and Gio @5 console range. It includes four rotary encoders for parameter control, direct access to playback and level controls, and the complete Eos button layout, giving experienced Eos operators an immediately familiar workflow in a portable form factor.

20 Fader Wing: Adds 20 pageable playback faders across 100 pages, providing direct hands-on access to cues, submasters, and playback masters without cluttering the programming wing. This is particularly valuable during live performance operation where rapid cue retrieval and real-time level control are essential.

Custom Flight Case: The entire kit ships in a purpose-built flight case for safe, organised transport between venues, a critical consideration for touring and multi-venue productions.

Eos Family Ecosystem

One of the Nomad 6k Kit’s most significant advantages for professional operators is its full compatibility with the broader ETC Eos Family ecosystem. Show files created on an Ion Xe, Gio, Gio @5, or Ti transfer seamlessly to and from the Nomad, meaning a programmer can prep a show in the office, hand it off to a touring LD on a full console, and have it come back for finishing without any translation or data loss. The Nomad also supports multi-user network sessions, allowing additional Eos clients or backup consoles to be added to the network as the production demands.
