About the GU10 Birdie

The GU10 Birdie, also known as a Par 16, is a compact theatrical wash fixture whose name comes from being “one under par,” a smaller counterpart to the standard Par can. Accepting any GU10 lamp up to 50W halogen or an LED equivalent, the fixture gives operators simple control over beam angle and colour temperature through lamp selection alone, without the need for additional hardware. Running directly on 230V AC mains, Birdies require no dimmer rack or step-down transformer, making them fast to deploy and easy to power from a standard GPO circuit.

Performance & Applications

Despite their small footprint (roughly 145 × 80 × 125 mm and just 220 g without the bracket), GU10 Birdies punch well above their size for accent and fill work. The included adjustable bracket, barn doors, and gel frame allow for precise beam shaping and colour correction, making them a practical choice for theatrical set dressing, exhibition lighting, window displays, bar and hospitality fit-outs, film and TV location work, and anywhere a discreet, focused source is needed. Their low profile means they can be tucked into tight scenic builds, under stage lips, or along truss chord faces where full-size Par cans simply will not fit.
