In March 2025, Krank’d collaborated with Australasian Dance Collective (ADC) to transform the UAP Foundry in Northgate into an immersive performance space for Relic, the final instalment of Jack Lister’s Still Life trilogy. This site-specific work reimagined themes of mortality and fragility through the lens of motocross, set against the industrial backdrop of a working foundry.
Krank’d provided a comprehensive lighting package that navigated the foundry’s unique architecture, utilising the space’s cathedral-like proportions to enhance the performance’s visual impact. The lighting scheme featured eerie amber spotlights and cool white strip lights, creating a monochromatic palette that complemented the production’s motifs. Strategic backlighting and dynamic transitions guided the audience through the performance’s three staging areas, each revealing different facets of the narrative.
This project exemplifies Krank’d’s expertise in adapting to unconventional venues, delivering lighting solutions that not only meet technical demands but also elevate the artistic vision of complex, multidisciplinary performances.
